WARPSTONE OPEN

It appears that Warpstone Open has once again opened up for all races to compete... and this time it's mainly played in the deep hazardous sewage caverns with the same underground sports brutality as last time! Bring on the mighty blighty underleague!!!

The best thing is that Pit Rat is still the head sponsor - now with an even 'warpier snack' for the ones who dare to chew it!

On top of that - Clan Rigens master engineers show-off with their latest technologies, all exalted about the experimental prize of injecting chunks of Warpstone into fleshy bodies - with a rather unstable effect!

ELIMINATION CUP
Competition Games: Knock-Out Rounds
A straigth out elimination cup. In the case of a draw, teams must go to Sudden Death Overtime, and a penalty shoot-out, if this does not result in a winner. Uneven number of participants leads to 'seeding'.

TOURNAMENT ADDON
Hazardous sewage caverns
This is the underground depths of the Old World, dingy tunnels with distinctive stench of warpstone - all in their rancid glory!

If the roll on the Random Stadium Table is Luxury Stadium (9-10), use the for Rough And Ready table to determine the Attribute.

In addition to this, use the Subterranean Weather Table for the duration of the match. Ignore this rule if you are playing at a teams home stadium.

Warpstone-fuelled Rampage!
Pit Rat is sponsoring Warpstone Open again! Some coaches are insane enough to pump their players full with chunks of "green snacks", a quick but not long-lasting effect of mutations, which usually has a positive effect...

Immediately before setting up the team at the start of each drive, roll a D6 and consult the table below to see the current effect of the team’s warpstone effect. Both teams can benefit from Warpstone-fuelled Rampage! in any or every drive as long as the coach dare to use it.

1 = Painful Comedown:
Roll a D6 for each player on the team. On a roll of 1,
they cannot be set up this drive. On a roll of 2, they
can be set up as part of the drive, but must be Placed Prone.

2 - 3 = Blind to Fear:
Each player on the team gains the Dauntless skill for the duration of this drive.

4 - 5 = Warpstone Frenzy:
Each player on the team gains the Sprint and Frenzy
skills for the duration of this drive. At the end of the
drive, roll a dice for each player on the pitch. On a
roll of 1, they are Knocked Out. A player will not be able to use Grab skill as long as they are affected by the Warpstone Frenzy!

6 = Temporary Mutation:
Pick a random player on the team. For the duration of this match, player gain one Mutation skill, chosen by the team’s coach.

Warpstone Brazier
Filled with chunks of raw steaming warpstone, there’s no way this ‘ball’ could be mistaken for one that meets regulations.

Whenever a player attempts to pick up, catch or intercept a Warpstone Brazier (the ball) and the D6 roll is a 1 (after re-rolls, but before any modifiers are applied), the player suffers a temporary physical mutation! Roll a D6 on the table below to see what happens - if a player is granted a duplicate skill it has no additional effect. The skill only lasts until the end of the drive, or until they are (un)lucky enough to receive another spontaneous mutation from the warpstone brazier.

1 = Spontaneous Combustion.
The player is Knocked Down. Add 1 to the result of the Armour Roll.

2 = Temporal Instability.
The player moves out of phase with reality, gaining the No Hands skill.

3 = Shrunken head. The only thing worse than a tiny head
is the realisation that your helmet no longer fits. The player gains the Bone-head skill.

4 = Massively Obese.
The player expands in size until they are a hulking mass of flesh..The player’s MA is reduced by 2, to a minimum of 1, but they gain the Thick Skull skill.

5 = Leprous Flesh.
Skin and flesh hang from the player in sickening folds. The player gains the Foul Appearance skill.

6 Thorny Carapace.
The player’s body sprouts a thick, spiked shell. The player’s AV is increased by one, to a maximum of 10.

Clan Rigens Xperimentz
Clan Rigens, Masters of engineering and flesh-crafting offers their services to fallen players during the tournament... brave enough to accept!

At the start of any drive, immediately before the team sets up, pick a player from the Dead & Injured box (not dead and not a Star Player) and roll a D6.
Note that any permanent injury which put a player in the Dead & Injured box still applies.

1 = Roll for Casualty. Decay and Regeneration don't have any effect on this roll. Miss Next Game results don’t stack.

2 - 3 = No effect.

4 - 5 = Return to the Reserves box. Can be set up as normal. Gain Really Stupid skill for this drive. If they already have it, apply a -1 modifier to any Really Stupid rolls until the end of the drive. At the end of the drive, they are returned to the Dead & Injured box if they are not already there.

6 = As 4-5, but without Really Stupid.

GLITTERING PRIZES
Prize Money
Winners: +60,000 gp
Runners-Up: +30,000 gp
Add the gp's in addition to any winnings the teams get in Post-Match Sequence.

Warpstone Shard
The trophy holders can use Clan Rigens Master Engineers, if the coach is brave or crazy enough, in each game until the end of the next season.
At the start of any drive, immediately before the team sets up, pick a player from the Dead & Injured box (not dead and not a Star Player) and roll a D6.

Clan Rigens Xperiment
One "lineman" (0-12/16) player on the winning team gains the skill Decay and a free mutation skill permanently at no extra cost, as positionals are to expensive to fiddle with. In addition to this, on any Improvement roll you may choose to take a skill from the Mutation skill category for this player with a value increase of 30,000 gps.
